    Ballistics app

I was wondering for those with experience with phone based ballistic calculators what do people use and like? There are a lot of apps available but most seem to be lacking and not providing adequate data.
I do know the applied ballistic app is said to be great. But it does have a price tag. Does anyone use this?
    Cheers

StrelokPro (used Shooter originally but that give incorrect solutions)

I have used shooter since it came out. Has worked flawlessly for me over several calibers out to 1250 yrds. Even LR 22RF

I have tried others but got to know shooter so well I just found it easier and stuck with it.
Most out there will work if the correct data is used.

My Shooter app worked perfectly, but after one of the updates the Spin Drift suddenly had a factor of 20.81 which made all my shots end up way left of any target. I did not notice it straight away so I almost missed every target on the first day of a shooting competition. Could not find how/where to manually correct or over ride it.

StrelokPro also gives you the reticle hold-overs for most popular scopes which is very helpful for competitions.

A good free app is the Hornady 4DOF one.

I use iSnipe. I have compared its answers to other apps over several years and it has been my experience that they all provide the same data so it comes down to personal preference of how user friendly the software is.

I have tried most and applied ballistics is the one.
I have been running it since it came out.
They have great back up and also you can buy their custom drag curves.
It might cost $40 but that is a small cost in the big picture.
They are an incredibly well resourced outfit that put a lot into the shooting community.
    My 2 cents.
By far the best system is the kestrels.
    The 5700 or 2700 out to 825y.
    Next question

That is odd but I did hear on here a recent update mucked with the app and I didn't update mine till later. You can turn off spin drift in the settings. I dont normally shoot far enough to worry about it, but know I never need more than a MOA out to 1000.
I would have thought you would pick up such a large discrepancy noting wind strength and direction earlier, but yeah that would be a pain in the ass.
I'm not saying it is the best app by any means but it is the one I have had the best results with particularly because it was simple to understand get started.
Recently had a mate the same age as me who has hunted all his life but has never fired a shot over 200m ever, hit at least waterline on targets with every shot with my rifle at several ranges well over 500. He was astounded. He asked how I calculated such precision so well in my head coz he knew I was a dumb fuck at school

No. Bad explanation on my part. I am getting into 22 PRS/Long range shooting but the furthest I have had any success so far is 450yrds. Some people do shoot them well past 1200 tho.

Yeah you would think... that was on me as I used a new scope, and I straight away thought that it was not tracking correctly. Stopped looking for anything else that might cause the problem.

Dundee wouldn’t need a app. He’d just shoot....
