    Ballistics software

Gday guys. Ive tried downloading heaps of ballistics apps, and the pro versions etc.but i cant seem to find one that will base calculations off a POI above bulls eye at 100. I run my 308 at 3 inches high at 100 for maximum pbr but ideally would like to be able to input that 3 inch high data and get ballistics tables from that. I dont really know where my zero is. Have i missed something or a programme that does it? Or do i just need to keep going back until i find zero on the range? Cheers

Have you considered working out (shooting targets) what distance you are actually zeroed for when 3 inchs high @ 100. If you use that as your zero distance then things should line up roughly.................. maybe??

^^^ What he said, just change the zero distance until the program says three inches high at 100.

Shooter allows you to get a table with a 3” high zero at 100yds. You just put in the zero range as 100yds and then say the vertical offset is +3”.

Shooter does what you want easy as and I assume Applied Ballistics. I'm sure Strelok does as well but have deleted it from my tablet so cannot check. A Strelok user may comment.

I use pointblank online and just keep changing zero untill my impact at 100 matches what it actually is...........so quick n easy to use and was eye opening with .223 so much so I changed that to much closer to 1" high with much better results on game.

Just looked at Strelok and it also gives you an option for a zero offset

    So does JBM Ballistics.
From the guide in the program -
    Zero Height
The height of the zero point at the zero range.

I use Shooter but JBM is one of the most comprehensive available.

Zero offset on Strelok works well for your situation.

Strelok also does “recommended distance “ which calculates the zero which will give you the greatest point blank range for a given target area.
