Barnauls are a handload, projectiles are selected by me by weight within 0.1gr. Powder ADI 2208 within 0.1gr, same brass, same Fed205MAR primers, they still shot like crap. They are about 17cents each from memory.

CMJs are 14.5cents each, ADI FMJs about 19cents each, TMK's x3 that! All these are handloads all are close to the best I can get with this std Stag model 4 barrel, though with a better scope I think I can shave a bit off.
The barnaul and Tula factory ammo shot as badly as my Barnaul handloads.
I am looking forward to the GECO ammo landing same price more or less as the Barnaul and you get a brass case.

Can you check the projectiles and see if they're truly .224?
0.2245 = 1
0.224 = 18
0.2235 = 17
0.223 = 3
0.222 = 2
0.221 = 1

Those PMC 55s are all over the place for velocity.. That's a 200FPS spread
Which perhaps explains a few of the results I've been getting with them.
Same here, the group above was pretty good but Ive had some way worse groups and I was assuming it was me (maybe it is, LOL). Also the "28xx" series was one box the "27xx" was another box, but the "27xx" was a clean gun in the cooler morning while the "28xx" was 150+ rounds later in the warm afternoon but 100fps seems a lot of gain just for a few degrees air temp and an AR that is a bit dirty?

I have personally found factory .223 ammo to be all over the place. For example I chronied some hornady 75gr steel "match" to find it was dribble slow and had around 150 fps extreme spread. Doesn't sound very "match".
The 75r Steel Match does 2600fps out of my 18" A1, PMC Match 77gr does 2500.
Handloads today from 13.5" AR = 26gr 2206H with 68r BTHP = 2750fps
Training ammo 55gr 2780
PMC .223 bronze 55gr 2775
Accuracy is a bit average. Decent speed from a 13.5 inch
