Anyone know the real world BC of this projectile and also the length?
I can measure. Bc is feck all
1.175" long
.35 BC will do wont it?
Is that g1 bc
Yeah didn't look right. That would explain being 10" low at 600. Only ever used g7
Yeah I can't find you a G7 sorry
Neither, entered the data ages ago and never shot it very far till today. You shoot them out of a short barrel? How much elevation would you need at 600
14 with 100 zero
16" barrel
Thats not validated at 600
14.4 with 14.5" barrel, what's your velocity
3005
I get 3000 ft/s (chrono'd) out of an 18" barrel in 308Win. If that's any help.
Bit of a bump, but has anyone used these before on animals? I picked up a box at a garage sale cheap as so thought I might give them a try.
Yes. Been using them for years, shot a nice boar with one a week ago. Have shot loads of deer with them inside 300. Shot a few more 300-450 but performance is getting marginal at that range with my 14.5” barrel.
Do the Hornady gmx have similar terminal performance as these? Just wondering as they are quite a bit cheaper.

I’ve used the 6.5, 7mm and 30 caliber. Every one has pencilled through, need to run them fast hence the above comment being correct.
I shot a 150 plus boar one night through shield out of a fast 280ai. Mate was amazed it went straight through.

I also shoot the 150gr 7mm at 3200fps as my 0-300 load and they do the job nicely
What you've both said is mirrored online from what I have read IE go down a weight for normal so 130 for 308 and run them fast. General consensus is that will kill like something 30% heavier
Used them for a long time out of 308.....they work really good launched at around 3200 out to around 300y
I have just started using 150gmx at 3050fps out of another caliber and they produce a lot more shock and bruising than the barnes ever did.

I’ve noted the bruising using the GMX also but the shock? So a good killer @veitnamcam

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...c136210b0b.jpgthe one on the right is from a spine shot stag at 400yards, didn’t hit a lot of bone. The other is out of a shoulder at 200 or so. I find they kill very well.
I sorted out some loads for the Model 7 this morning, 46gns of 2206h gives me 2890fps and sub inch groups @ 100, 2403 ft-lbs ME. Pretty happy to be sorted after only about 10 shots. Now to find something to drill with em'
Too slow bay
Yeah, I've been told that before ( I tend to reload on the soft side as opposed to running things hard) but I haven't had a deer complain yet about a missing 100fps Mv. Will update the thread once I've tipped something over :)
I get just over 3,000 fps, Have shot a fair few animals from Sika to Sambar within 250(bush hobbit),I've found it kills quickly and consistently over varying weights and sometimes liquefies the vitals at close range, works the best on Sambar and pigs imo, the more resistance the better as I've never retrieved a pill, always exit.

200m 139gr GMX from a 7x57. Went through front shoulder engine room and ended up on opposite back leg.
