    Barnes data

The Barnes website shows reloading data for the .223 70gn tsx using a 1:12 twist barrel.
    Can this be right?

    I guess you are meaning, will a 1-12 twist stabilise a 70 TSX ?

If so, no, their own web site suggests 1-8, which is more sensible I would say.

    Ok. Thanks.
Their load data test barrel is 1:12 which I thought was a bit odd.
Would this effect the velocity data they give?

Long monolithic needs a fast twist.Remember you do not need a heavy Barnes pill to kill compared to lead cousin because of the pedalling effect and weight retention. Dig one out if you find it and weigh it. Illuminating.Used to do this all the time with 87gr Hornady. Vast difference in recovered projectiles but they were a mean pill to tag stags especially on river face gallops.
