Last year I used several TSX 150 gn in my 30.06 Tikka T3. I shot mainly Sika and a couple or 3 pigs. Possibly one Red also but that could also have been the year prior.
The year before last in the same rifle I mainly used TTSX 165 gn bullets.
With both bullets complete pass throughs are pretty common for me out to 200 yds ( broadside shoulder shots ) and not uncommon further out, just a smidgen less likely.
Tracking wise I think the TTSX track straighter through a deers body on the longer shots especially. TTSX bullets are a little longer than the TSX which might have something to do with it.
Both kill pretty well and I like using them. Based just on last year and lung shots I found the TSX more destructive, causing much more "mush" internally. Post shot, I don't think I saw any difference on whether deer were DRT or ran off a bit.
I handload ammo and find it easier to work up an accurate load with TTSX than TSX but don't know if this is general or just related to my rifles. I refer here to only my 30.06 rifles and comparing TTSX 130, 150, 165 gn and TSX 150 and 180 gn bullets.
Either way you go I think you will find they work well. Something to consider is that it's said that both bullets perform best when driven fast. I wasn't driving the TSX 150 gn super fast ( approx 2800 fps ) to get the performance described above. I do drive the TTSX bullets faster. You may want to step down one bullet weight compared to the cup 'n core bullets you've been using.
Mararoa is right about fastre bullet expansion with the TTSX. Pretty sure this was developed in response to hunter feedback about lack of expansion sometimes with the TSX.
Anyway, hope the comments help and don't confuse. Cheers.
