I haven't used them but most Belmont ammo I have used went well if a bit slow velocity wise.

I shot quite a few deer with their .223 ammo loaded with 55 grain Lapua, and thy were fine.
Shot accurately enough for bunnies and stuff too.

I have not finished testing but I am finding the Belmont FMJs seconds pretty good, way better than Barnaul and certianly tula for instance and cheaper. There is also a discussion somewhere on here on using the 55gr FMJ for hunting as its a nasty round when it hits inside 200yds as it tumbles and breaks up (it needs velocity to work).

BTW that ballistic gelatine stuff can it be got in NZ?

The ballistic gel can be made @ home.
I've been given a "youtube" vid showing this but it doesn't give a forum reference address so "google" homemade gel or similar & it should show something up.

I have shot a pig with 223 FMJ and it just looked confused and kept on running. They are not designed for game.
