With a 1:7 26" barrel using 24.7 gr of 2208 for 80 gr A-Max I get 2840 fps. Good enough for targets out to 1000 yards.

Take a look at Reloader7 too.

There's plenty of information on the Internet suggesting this powder in a 1 in 7 barrelled AR15 and 55gr projectiles can easily exceed 3000fps.

And we all know that if its on the Internet it must be true aye.

    Cheers

Wouldnt 55 grainers over stabilise in a 1in 7 twist?

    Yes.

Any with a thin jacket might disintergrate due to the rotational forces

Also I understood that some have a very long throat to allow for heavier bullets. Hence a long jump for lighter ones.

Also wont over spinning a light bullet exaggerate it's imperfections? Just a thought.

    Cool

    Hey Guys,

I have been using this powder exclusively for myAR15. Its a BCM KMR Recce 16" 1:7 twist, 5.56 chamber.

Belmont Action Rifle (BAR) is a St Marks powder manufactured exclusively for the Military for 5.56 and 7.62. It is 7% faster than WW748 and is colloquially called 747...

My go to load is ADI brass, 26.3 grains BAR, Murom SR mag primer, Hornady bulk 55 grain softpoints with cannelure seated to 2.250" these net me 2950fps.

Interestingly this is also the same load as the H&F bulk packs.

It's bloody accurate in my gun with a 4x Viper PST I am getting 20mm groups for 10 shots and managed to get a 14mm 5 shot group.

Ignore the round below, I adjusted the POI after the group. The squares are 1/4 MOA.

Deadly on goats, roos and fallow. I reckon it will do the job on Reds and Sika in the summer.

The hornady pills are affordable and perform.

The ones I recover usually go about 40 grains and about 15mm in diameter.

Pulled this one out of a Big billy, 200m through the chest, both shoulders, lungs and the bottom of the heart. Sitting on the offside under the skin.

Here is the Billy, he went 26 inches, my personal best. My mate drilled him in the forehead and it exited his eye (co-ord shoot, always yields better results)

Can't argue with results like that. Those KMR rifles are sexy as fuck.
