    That Belmont powder must be really fine because I use 5.2 grns of N320 or AP50 and 70 in my .40's and that is 3/4 full.

    9 major is a very common choice for open guns. If you know what youre doing it can be loaded "safely". I must have a looser meaning for the term "safely" than some people have, although if anyone wants to be pedantic about it then reloading anything can be a recipe for disaster and is potentialy unsafe.

    Loading 9x19 to major pf is not for the faint hearted and/or inexperienced as it could rapidly end in tears when that hammer drops in more ways than one.

    I'm really just a weekend plinker at best, running a standard gun so have no need to push my gear to the limits.

    Minor PF in my 9mm suits me just fine.
