Thread: Belmont rifle powder 763

This is an old thread but I will add my thoughts on this powder.
Everything I have read also supports that it’s the same as / is PowerPro 2000-MR.

Using load data from Alliant on line data, it’s spot on for 308 loads with 155 and 175gn projectiles I have used so far.

I have just been working up a load using it in a Savage Stealth Evolution in 308 with a 20” barrel.
Running 155gn HBC projectiles I am getting 2930 fps with no pressure signs and good accuracy.
Will try running these at 1000 yards in the weekend and see how they go.
FYI, these were loaded over mag length so are single load only which helps getting the velocity obtained.

Running 175gn Sierra’s at mag length I am getting 2730fps but this needs more tuning yet.
I am picking 2800fps will be possible at safe pressures.

It’s cheap, meters really well and gives great velocity and accuracy.
Looking forward to burning a whole lot more of it.
