    Berger 140gn elite hunter

Chucked a post up a while back regarding loading 135gn Classic Hunters in my 6.5 creedmoor, due to the shortage in reloading supplies in NZ currently I can't get a hold of any from anywhere. Decided I am going to try the new 140gn Elite Hunters in their absence. Not a lot around on them being a new projectile. Just thought I'd put the feelers out if anyone has any current loads (in any calibre) and reviews on them. Also what sort of jump from the lands are guys/girls getting the best results from?

I have used 155gr out of my 30-06 and have found them very reliable. I have no issues with red stags or bull tahr. As for seating depth I load to Mag fit so they would have a fair jump, accuracy is as you would expect from a premium projectile although I found driving them faster did shrink grouping.

Cheers for that. Have same same issue with mag feeding myself. My 6.5cm Tikka has a real long throat so they are jumping 150 thou. Did my first load test yesterday to find flat spots off SD and even though all 12 rounds were shot at .4gn increments it shot a 2" group. So things are looking up. Shooting a few groups today so that will be the real test. Cheers.

Is that because you are using a M magazine I changed mine to a L then you can seat out to bee closer to the lands.

In his case the throat is so long that to have those 140s near the lands he wouldn’t have near enough projectile shaft sitting in the case neck. It’s a suuper long throat, couldn’t believe it.
