Hi all,
So my cut down 308 seems to like the 168s. Getting a MV of 2610. Question is are these a good projectile on game inside 300? Namely Red, Sika and Fallow.
Keen to hear your experiences etc. before I commit to them.

Yes they are a good projectile for your intended use
Just make sure the meplat (lil hole in the front) is open, ie 20-25 thou
The projectiles with the smaller/closed meplat often pencil through and cause very delayed killing
If the meplat opening where the jacket closes is less, then open it up with a needle

Nice one mate. Will ensure to check them. From memory they are good to go.
Dont forget to put a nice vld angled inside chamfer on your brass necks to protect those soft J4 jackets and lube your brass neck and projectiles for ammo assembly

The lyman will be fine
If you have graphite then good
Check your oal then check with a comparator and you will be good to go
Often lubing the necks/projectiles will result in a deeper seated projectile than when using the same die settings as unlubed ammo assembly

The Berger VLD is a great clean killer of game (and paper!) I use it in a number of different calibres and it never lets me down near or far, I roll a cotton bud across my lube pad every few cases when sizing ( I full length size everything every single time too) and roll it around the inside of the neck prior to sizing it, along with a decent chamfer, eases seating for soft wall projectiles and gives a consistent release, but you gotta remember to do them all, cause the one you don't, will go somewhere else, and at a different speed too!.
They're mint, I use the 190vld in my 308.
