    Best adi powder data

Currently rocking 2208 adi powder for my 308. Love trying out new projectiles but I find it frustratingly difficult/long process to find good powder info on different weighted projectiles. Anyone have a go to website - easy to use and navigate rather than scrolling and scrolling to find what I’m after.

This is all get from them...no actual 2208. Does this mean 2208 is no good to push them?

On that note ar2206h seems to have load data for all 308 projectiles....might have to find a pot

Neither ADI or Hodgdon (Varget) list 2208 for 110 gr as it is deemed too slow for that weight of projectile.

Have a look at ADI's Powder Equivalents for relative powder bring rates.

@zimmer sorry I’m pretty new to this all... what do you mean by slow? Slow burning rate or doesn’t physically push them fast enough?

You can’t find data for 2208 for a 110gr bullet because ADI has decided it’s too slow for such a light .30 cal bullet.

    Which I’d agree with.

You need to be looking at Benchmark 2 / 8208 / 2206h for that bullet I’d think, maybe 2207.

2208 probably fills the case before you get enough in to push the 110gr at decent speeds, the 130gr hp load is already compressed.

Joel, I just use the ADI website.

That is always my starting point. If that does nor work, then google search with powder and projectile weight will get you some basic starting point.

Websites keep being updated, reloading books are out of date almost as soon as they are printed

Gordons Reloading Tool (GRT) is free, pretty easy to learn and is a powerful way to model/compare load data. It's critical to compare the data it spits out with other sources and it doesn't (yet) have every powder, but to my mind it is more important that load manuals nowdays.

I use Hornady 10th Edition and cross reference with the ADI online data. I want both as a paper copy so I had been waiting for the ADI 10th edition to release so that it had the newer APS powders and 6mmCreed data etc... It’s been out for a while now though and I haven’t got around to getting it! Haha!

I shoot mostly Hornady bullets and ADI powder so that’s the combination that makes the most sense for me.

    Greetings All,
I tend to use the Hodgdon on line data rather than the ADI site. It is exactly the same data but the Hodgdon site has IMR and Winchester data as well. I checked Brian Pierce's Pet loads data which is usually comprehensive but he does not list AR2208/Varget for projectiles under 140 grain projectiles. I think it is just too slow for the 110 grain. It is a pity that Hodgdon doesn't list any data for the cup and core type projectiles like the Hornady 110 grain V-Max. These will need different data than the Barnes. I now use AR2206H as my standard .308 powder.

2208= good for 150gr and up, lighter than that in 308 you wont fit enough in the case (at least not easily)
Under 150gr projectiles you need to be looking at powders like 2206h and H335
