You could save about 10 cents per round buying in bulk from barnaul.co.nz
Barnaul has a bi-metal jacketed bullet which *supposedly* wears out barrels somewhat faster than copper. However the savings from not paying $1+ per round will quickly pay for your new barrel, if it shoots acceptably in your gun. There aren't really any other downsides to steel cased ammo. I like using it because I have no intention of reloading .223 in the bulk that I shoot it, and can't be bothered looking for cases in the grass to pick them up.
