Best rifle primers - what the pros use. A well done survey. Kind of interesting to read from the edge of the world where choice is a thing of the past.

Your link does not work
Should be this: https://precisionrifleblog.com/2025/...-rifle-primer/
Should preface that this is based on PRS shooting.
Apart from CCI BR primers with the marking or primers that are not nickel plated (Rem 7 1/2), it's also difficult to tell what primers people are using externally.
I suspect a lot of that data is not particularly exact... 'Here is my favourite load, I'm telling everyone so they can run out and panic buy my preffered components!' :ORLY:
For example, we now have Vihtavuori (VV) primers circulating in Europe, but not for sale in the civillian market unless you have contacts...

@Kiwi Greg what SR primers do you recommend for the Lapua 22 Creed cases (resized 6mm)? Im using Rem 7 1/2.
I generally use CCI 450 or Fed AR205M, they both have thicker cups so cope better with stiff loads & big firing pins found in factory actions
If you are after maximum accuracy it is worth trying each to see if there is a difference
It is one of the very few instances when I have seen a difference in performance between primers
cci450 are good if you can get hold of them
Thanks Greg, Will go to the website. Cheers
