Greetings again,
The cartridge cases are still work in progress with the first batch rehomed. A start on the powder cupboard has been made. My eye has fallen on some IMR4198 which although quite old is in good condition. The powder is a bit of an orphan in that other powders in stock seem to fill most of the gaps so I thought I might use it in some light .308 loads with plated projectiles. A search of my handloading data has turned up some for both IMR and H4198 (AR2207) much of which is for cast projectiles. I also found data for the .30-40 Krag which has close to the same capacity as the .308.
So the question is does anyone have any actual experience in light loads for the .308 using IMR4198?
Regards and thanks Grandpamac.
Well I don't need to tell you.
But any 303 load or any 308 starting load is good for the 30-40
