    Brass prices

I was just checking some prices as I'm thinking it's time to get decent brass and see how much further I can go up with my loads in the 6.5-55AI and I couldn't get over the difference in prices between 3 shops. Dead eye dicks is rather expensive, is it just the amount they purchase or are they just being greedy why the huge difference?

Cheapest I found was workshop innovation, one of the better websites for finding products imo.

Yeah, after talking to another member via pm and he said about the primer pockets I noticed when I measured some that mine had widened a bit. primers still went in but they were rather easy to push in unlike normal. These are Winchester cases on their 3rd firing. The ones that weren't blown out are now on their 4th loading but are gonna be for hunting so I dont care about loosing them now.

Just hope I can start my loads from where it's at and still be the same accuracy. I reckon it will be as everything else I have shot through it seems to be hitting around the same spots on the paper.

Don't use lapua brass as a straight substitute for Winchester brass.....especially if you're running a load that has loosened the pockets after three firings.....drop back and work up again.

None, I think I've read 100-150fps but someone said they are getting the same speeds I'm getting.

Yeah Belmont for lapua brass. I'd probably drop back a grain or 2 and then work up. You should be able to get high 2800s with 140s

Is it worth risking blowing your face off for what will equate to maybe an hours extra work just to be safe?

In saying all that your not using a Blaser so you will probably be okay........

Exaggerated for effect but changing brass then running the same hot load (loose primer pockets etc) without reducing it and working up could be a potential hazard.

    Worded poorly initially.
