    Brass Trimming Setup

Wanting to sort out a better/faster brass trimming setup and want some advice.

Previously been using a lee quick trim die and cutter but wouldn't mind a setup that is off press. Any recommendations without spending a fortune, happy to spend $150-250.

Need to be able to do .223, 6.5Cm, .243, .308

    Cheers
    Tom

I got me the Worlds Fines Trimmers. (WFT). Sudami in South Africa manufactures a improved copy of it.

One body but with different inserts for the different calibers you want to trim.

I use a Lyman Accutrimmer. It can be a bit of a pain to set up to trim to the right length, but is then quite quick to trim each case. It comes with several pilots, but not the .26/6.5mm one (is available though). It works with standard shellholders.

Cordless drill and lee case length gauge and cutter is what I use. Cheap as.

The Redding one seems fine, but admittedly haven't done vast numbers with it. For bulk stuff I would use a Dillon RT, it's convenient, but I doubt many people are doing the numbers to justify one these days

I did 46 .308 cases on my Redding 1400 this afternoon. Took about 15 minutes or so to trim chamfer clean the pockets and brush the neck. Not super fast but pleasant to use and quick enough. Does a good job too and it seems to me better to index off the whole case rather than the shoulder somehow

Have a look at the following link:

The Sudani is a carbon copy of this but with some upgrades the WFT version 2 has the same upgrades.

You just chuck it in the hand drill and off you go. Its fast, easy and accurate

Cheers guys, got a few options to think about. Might buy a WFT trimmer for .223 as i have heaps of it and not too worried about accuracy and something slower and more precise for the the rest.

Hi NZ. The WFT trimmer for the 223 is a 5way. It will work on 204 R, 20 Tac, 20 Practical, 222, 223 and 223 Ackley

308 cutter will work on all calibres using the 308W as parent case.

I have just ordered a Frankford Arsenal Universal Precision Case Trimmer.
Will do a write up once I have used it.
There is a good review on Ultimate Reloader on you tube.
