    Budget 223 ammo

I'm picking lots of you guys are smashing through the 223 ammo these days.

So whats the best option of budget ( but reasonable quality ) factory ammo for hares, rabbits and possums.

I used to reload when I was just running the R93 223 but now with the AR15 the usage has gone up just a little and I have a high usage trip coming up soon.
Want to find something that both my 223s are happy with and keep things simple.

Also have a decent stock of Winchester 64 grain 223 for if I happen to run into a pig, deer or Chamois when out and about.

Yeh just googling around and the Belmont 55 grain SP at $600 / 1000 seems like good value.
They are currently out of stock but I will see if they have any stock of the same item in smaller lots and start trying a few to see what the guns like.

So I have been crunching the numbers with the view to significantly increased usage in the next few years.
And the pros and cons of using for possums at times in some location instead of the usual .22 subs.

Belmont's .223 SP in bulk @ 60 cents per round

Various .17 HMR bulk @ 50 cents per round

Quality .22 sub sonics bulk @ 23 cents per round

Cheap .22 High velocity bulk @ 10 cents per round

Should be able to do well better than $100 per brick of Sub sonics. Closer to $80 for CCI. If you are near Chch I can do similar for Kilwell (rebranded Winchestor) but we were usually undercut by GC or others.....Problem is I cannot ship it easily. Seeing as you are in canterbury, I could be able to help. (I just need to find it) I do have Fiocchi subs at $90 per 500, and Kilwell is a bit cheaper than that. And I may be able to improve on these prices as this is from memory.

Ammodirect (Jai) has been very good to deal with and I get my 223 from him for my use.
