Thread: Bullet seating tool

Ok so I'll try to explain it.
New brass neck sized. Trimmed.
Happy with both and both came out how I wanted. Measurements all good.
Primed happy again.
Trailboss powder. All good.
Putting the pill in and reread the institutions two hundred times and still
Here's what I do.
Seat bullet come down 1/4 rotate cartridge 1/2 turn then down another 1/4 rotate etc.
But when I get to full seating death I'm getting loads of different over all cartridge lengths.
Have pulled a few and done it again from the start.
Have measured from the shoulder with Hornady tool and that all comes up spot on.
But once I messure from the tip to the base I get also sorts of measurements. I've read the instructions set the seating tool and thought that the bullets should all then seat to the same depth in the cartridge.
So I'm kind of stuck. Sorry don't have my note book at hand so can't give you all the numbers.

But I saw the above tool and though let's try that. Stupid maybe.
Anybody here had the same issue? I'm going to sleep on it now so I'll see ya answers in the morning.

Do you have a hornady comparator to measure from base to ogive? Pills can have various issues with the tip so measuring base to tip in my experience will throw different COALs
