Maybe am looking in the wrong place but do you need a license to buy reloading components? powder, projectiles, primer's etc

Nope.
Guncity say on their website that they need to see your license. But it is not a legal requirement.
And their staff here didn’t even know about it!
At present you don't need a license to buy and store components.
Legislation (and your insurer) requires you to store powder separately from your dwelling and no more than 15 kg in a single oubuilding.
When you assemble those components you will need appropriate storage and a license.
Never brought reloading components before but am licensed. Wife is away in palmerston and thought if i can find a shop open tomorrow she might be able to buy some powder for me for a future reloading project. Any one got any ar2217 for sale, palmerston back through hawkes bay monday.
What shops would be open on sunday that's sells powder?
Hunting and fishing will be open. i looked today and didn't see any. The other shops in the area will be closed unfortunately. Dead eye dicks and feildings shop will be closed.
i will ring them in the morning, be a little while before i need it
I can tell you this is a bad time to be starting reloading due to limited component availability. I've run out of RL16, RL23, RL26, and only have a tiny bit of Varget left. I also have run out of primers. It's a bit depressing as I'm back to using factory loads for the most part and limiting range time.
there are still a few places with the ar2217 powder but been located in gisborne is a pain, just thought with the wife out of town it might be a good time to pick some up
No luck palmy h&f didn't have any, gun city napier got none
Also whats a good mag primmer to use?
What size magnum? Most magnums I didnt bother using magnum primers for.
