    The powder will be cordite, strands of "spaghetti" that fill the case and don't rattle. It is extremely temperature and age stable. The ammunition would be fine to fire but there may be the odd hangfire as the fulminate in the mixture decomposes over time making the priming less sensitive.Hot water will clean the bore of any chlorate residue.
