I'm looking for a case trimmer and just curious to see what others are using.
Has anyone tried the Lee press mounted type with individual calibre dies?

I use a Wilson. Have tried several others over the years but consider it
to be the best, but not the cheapest. Guess it depends on what volume of cases
you're looking to trim.

+1 on the wilson, does a nice job
I have the lee quick trim setup. I probably can't tell you a whole lot as I have never used anything else for comparison, but it works fine. Has a twist adjustment for depth of cut and doesn't leave burrs. Generally trims to within .02mm from memory. Have probably done about 100 cases with it, so not a whole lot of volume either.
Forster makes a nice one. Better than Lee (what isn't) but not OTT priced. Comes with multiple collets and pilots, plus can take inside and outside neck turning tool should you wish.
The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds
Yep I would second Kiwijames recomendation. Forster not too pricey and if you want to inside / outside neck turn or hollow point its not much money to change it up further down the track.
Year I also have the lee quick trim deluxe
Nice to use.
Just remember to READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!
Year I didn't my bad
And also wipe/brush off the shell holder after each case to take off any small brass shavings once I figured that out it worked a treat!
I like how you buy the dies for each caliber. Makes trimming a lot simpler. Did 80 cases in an hour the other day. I'm not super fast and through the callipers on each round to check there all good......after starting off with the above mistakes....mine not lees.
It's all fun and games till Darthvader comes along
I respect your beliefs but don't impose them on me.
Wilson is awesome!! Wish I got the micrometer one though...
forster case trimmer for accuracy and lee for volume (with hand drill).
yip the lee job works great with battery powered drill, after trimming use case deburrer while it still in drill, works a treat and takes next to no time at all.
Wilson.
I have the Lee quicktrim delux in 223R, 308W and 303Brit (also russian 54R but un-used) I think the end result is acceptable* its also a lot quicker than trimming to length and chamfering inner and outer as separate operations.
*However if you are skilled / careful I think you can do a better chamfering job as the chamfer is a bit "light" with the quicktrim.
"I do not wish to be a pawn or canon fodder on the whims of MY Government"
Wilson. But if the idea is to spend less, then, Lee.
I have an old Lyman that works ok, the little crow is good and fast but your stuck with one calibre type .
I will probably invest in the redding in the future.
