Thread: Cast Patched bullet BP round to identify

Clearly been around a while (pun intended)
Came in a bin full of stuff given to me yesterday. Probably other bits in there to but I'm traveling and this just lept out begging to be noticed.

Mark 2 577-.450 round by Kynoch, UK. Zulu wars round.

Bit later than Zulu wars,they had coiled brass cases.

Looks like a regular Kynoch 577-450 round,drawn brass case. I don't know when Kynoch stopped loading that caliber but it was into the 1950s

Thks team..there is also a fired case and yes it is split near full length.

Early Sixties Kynoch stopped. I've got a couple of those as well.

I had about 30 loose rounds, fired a few thinking I could reload them as I had berdan primers. Every one split, a few didn't go off so we're pulled apart. The powder was a shiny purple black colour and seemed to have much more punch v/v than the goex I was using then.
