Parrifin (candle wax) or dry saw dust are excellent fluxes when smelting lead.
Both act as a reductant to reverse the oxidation of the tin and antimony which can then be mixed back into the lead to ensure a good alloy.
Cheers

Arguing with an Engineer is like Wrestling a Pig in Mud.
After awhile you realise the Pig loves it.
