yes normally I would agree with you. Normally him and her at that shop look after me better than a lot of other retailers do. But this thread is showing huge price descrepencys between retailers and suppliers etc.
I do not know of or where 45 south is and certainly do not travel to 'dunners' . i do have a couple of freinds in pest control so will be discussing said situation with them when they next come home out of the scrub for a hot feed and shower.
The best camouflage pattern is 'hold still and be quiet. '
It is a free market. Each retailer has to generate enough income to keep themselves in business. To stock any item one has to consider how often it turns over.
We all want the lowest price and we want a convenient retailer near where we live. Sometimes you can't have both of those.
Hands up if you've bypassed NZ retailers to save money. In doing that you've increased the prices of the locally stocked items.
Sorry Cyclops but it's a free market didn't you say? Bypassing them is the reality of a free market and the age of internet. If you remember the time prior to parallel importing etc you will realise that the non-free market did not result in lower prices, better service etc (quite the opposite). Unfortunately with many retailers price is often decided by the landlords and their outrageous rent demands. Also shipping things like powder to NZ is nasty expensive.
The bigger issue for much hobby stuff in NZ is the price gouging the official importers do. My local shop often apologizes for not being able to offer a competitive price relative to imported stuff and they've even shown me their costs at times.
That's why I brought back 1200 projectiles from the US a few months ago. Saved --heaps--.
