I found an ultra sonic cleaner sitting unused at my old man's place.
Never used one before but wanting to try it out.
What is a good solution to use?
It is not a big unit but would easily fit 20-30.308 sized brass and around 100 9mm.

I use 50% white vinegar and water with a little bit of detergent, seems to work ok. This has a bit more info http://www.6mmbr.com/ultrasonic.html
Hydrocloric acid +hydrogen peroxide cleans most stuff up pretty good.

hot water, little bit of dishwash liquid and teaspoon of citric acid

Tried the vinegar one and although clean it left blemishes after they dried.

I use less citric acid as it turns my brass pink at that strength, I have however put fresh lemon juice from one whole lemon into the water and it bought the brass up really clean and shinyQuote:

1 cup vinegar to 2 cups hot water, teaspoon of salt, teaspoon of dishwashing liquid.
I wash cases manually, agitate every 5 minutes for max of 30 mins. Rinse very well after with clean water.

Yeah. In the end i found it easier to go back to the tumbler. Turn it on, go away....
I just tried some of that shower power stuff as I bought a bottle to use for cleaning the bathroom and decided to try some in the Ultrasonic cleaner, I did one teaspoon full to 600ml of water and it is cleaning up some really grotty looking brass really quick. It even says on the bottle with a jewellers recommendation a 5:1 mix of this stuff in an ultrasonic cleaner will clean up gold jewellery like new and at $10 for a 500ml bottle is a bloody good price and is not turning my brass pink like the citric acid from the supermarket didQuote:

Thank you for all of you guys who reply and answer my question and also other questions that was pertinent. I found something that is working for me, i am not very sure if it is a good recipe to everyone but dishwashing detergent, lemon juice and a bit of salt in the warm water is doing a great job for me.
Hope it help as an option.
