    Collapsed straight wall cases

Any way to save these ?

I was loading some 45/70 tonight, and lost concentration, so 2 of my cases got damaged when the bullet was not completely straight...

Anyone have some special tricks to get these back into usable shape ?

A Photo would help with diagnosis and or give us a bit of amusement

    No

You could just cut them down past the damage and still use them.

Too late : the "evidence" has been destroyed

One case had a slight fold/kink on about 1/4 of the mouth. Managed to save that one.

The other was well and truly graunched. Krinkle all he way around, and a severe nick along 1/4 of the mouth. Consigned to the bin.

What I ended up doing was to use a bit of round tool steel as a backer, and the lightly panel beat the case into mostly round shape - at least until it fit into the FL sizing die. Will give it a mild fireforming load of TrailBoss, and should be good to go again...
