    Copper bullets

Fellas, was thinking about trying a copper bullet in the 243 and was looking at the E-Tips.
Does anyone have a preference between the three readily available oferings in the Barnes TTSX, Nosler E-Tip or Hornady GMX.
Will start low too after Mike H's prior warning

They all work really well. Get a sample pack of each and see what the gun likes. I think the gmx are cheapest

Gmx have better bcs than the ttsx, shame they dont do a 130gr 30 cal.

Was just talking about them with Abe yesterday and our various experiences with them/pros cons etc.

Really keen on a bullet with some weight. 80g is too light. May try some of the heavy bullets Targex is making. I have some 112g ones Adam gave me that may be the shizzle.
The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

The copper bullets are different, they dont shed weight at all compared to conventional bullets so will penetrate & kill well beyond thier weight implys.

Years ago when I had a poo for free I used the old Barnes 75 X bullet, they were awsome killers at 33-3400 fps, really fast & flat.

Just what was required in the non techo pre-dial scope days

My friend shot big red stag in the neck at about 50 -75yds with a 80gr TTSX from a 243 doing about 3200 fps. The stag dropped on the spot, had completely shattered the vertebrae. He recovered the projectile under the skin, it had lost 2.7 gr, which would be the plastic tip.

You can achieve the same effect with a 223 running 55gr TSX and 26gr BM2.
