    Cracked it

Poor Montana has been sitting in the safe patiently waiting for me to stop playing around with cows etc the last few months. Finally got around to loading up some load dev the past few nights. Was tossing up between the 145 eldx and the 140 Gamechanger and wanted to try out reloder 23 as I have never used an alliant powder with my 270s and there were whispers going around within the #27gang that it might be magical.
Shot some half hearted groups starting at 58gr as I searched for pressure and finally settled on 60.3gr steaming along at 3182fps. Shoots half moa and better and confirmed out to 510yds with a first round hit on the 10" gong just now, not bad for a super light rifle with a whippy barrel and no silly stuff screwed on the end of it. Pretty happy with that

Have started load dev on a mates 20” 270 but no luck getting the speed I want with accuracy yet. Might have to give Rel 23 a go. Using the 143 ELD-X

Gotta be real happy with that load and group. Nice!!! The new Alliant powders do seem to provide a jump in performance (fps) vs other powders.

This one copped a game changer .308 to the skull/neck junction, hardly a test though

Haven't shot a deer with one yet... Kind of tempted though, can see a spiker wandering round right now...
