    Crimped 22lr

So i got given a handful of ammunition to 'dispose' of.... will be using a bolt action for the 22 and pump for the 12gauge.

Has anyone ever seen 22 ammo like this though? Have to say i am a little nervos firing 12g with 'nitro' written on the side, tempted to wait for dark and see if its dragonbreath or similar!

I assumed so but only cause its the only brand i could think of starting with c but its a different logo (going off memory, havent actually looked at something to compare)

Only have a handful of rounds so not using for hunting, will just stick a box up at 20m.

Would the crimp be factory or has someone modified it? Dont think i have seen crimped 22 ammo before

@mimms2 came from the same source. I assume reloads, not that keen to take them apart, might just live dangerously.... and stick the 12g in a portable vice and stick a bit of string on the trigger

Thats where i figure the crimp was as well, just cant see the point of it

Nitro as in 'not black powder'. Nitrocellulose. Gunpowder as we know it today.

As long as your rifle is in good condition they will be fine to shoot
Yeah, this bloke is onto it. It's Stinger and they were all crimped like it.

Tried a box of Stingers when they first came out totally inaccurate three of us shot them in every .22 we could find waste of time past about 25 metres

Ok so happy shooting the 22, how does one go about deactivating a primer other than the usual method... soak in water for a while? Would it work if dried out?

My 2 cents worth is for the 12g , if you value your shotgun and mybe your life empty the cartridges and then fire off the primers . Old paper cartridges reloaded with who nos what are not worth risking it
