    Crimping?

Question to those of you that reload 6.5 Creedmoor - do you crimp for hunting, target, both or never?

Jan, crimping is really only for when you use a semi-auto or something with a tube mag.

I've only ever crimped for semi auto or tube fed like my old Ruger .44 carbine

Crimping for bolt action is a waste of time and i found of no benefit whatsoever.

I’ve read that you can potentially get more consistent pressures because the projectile lingers a bit longer before moving out of the neck, but it will create more pressure.

The other thing was that it is good for hunting ammo because it means it can handle a bit more abuse. I guess if you coal is of such a nature that you run into the lands that you risk pulling the projectiles out of of the casing if you need to unload when the animal moves away before you could take a shot. (Not that I plan to run into the lands though)
