    Crimping reloads for the SLR

Do I need to crimp the projectiles when reloading ammo to use in a SLR?

Try it without and see. I dont crimp any reloads apart from a very slight one for a cartridge I use in a revolver.

My AR runs without crimp but I have had a double feed issue due to a magazine and the projectiles were only slightly pushed back if at all.

You won't know till you run it both with and without.

I used to because the SLR shakes them around a bit. I was often using shitty old brass for hunting loads. Had a couple push back a bit (before I started crimping) but nothing catastrophic.
