Crooked Bergers
Just bought a box of Berger VLD Hunting 7mm 140 grn (for 7/08).
Most of the tips are finished off at a slight angle (not square).
Will it affect accuracy/performance? I think not, but someone might have some experience with them?
Seems a bit sloppy. Or maybe I'm pedantic.
Thanks

doesnt make a difference, I have tested the square finish vs angled finish at the range and all flew fine. Make ure you measuer off the ogive when checking your length. I found in excess of 11 thou variance in length of Amaxes... Not sure if that was a bad batch or typical of them

You can get a bullet pointer and a meplat trimmer if your keen. I think it offered about 2% increase in BC through trimming and 3/4 - 1 MOA less drop @ 1000y through the bullet pointing process. I doubt I could even measure that sort of increase considering my own inbuilt shooting variation.

hmm, I wondered that when i opened up my box of VLD's and just assumed that they were all like that.
