    Digital scales

Is there a cheaper but good scale that measures better than my RCBS chargemaster (0.1gn)? Gempro 250 I came across but can't see for sale. In the $200~$300 range rather than over $1k. Or not possible?

Like scopes you pay for what you get.....don't touch a Gempro. If you really want an accurate scale, A&D or Satorious which read to 0.02gr are the best.

A good balance scale will record one kernel of powder.....why would you want more accuracy than that....?

I don't know what all the fuss is about been able to weigh down to under .1 of a grain as it's been proven that any more accuracy than that your wasting your time.
Read the secrets of the Houston warehouse.
If your chasing accuracy concentrate on neck tension.

Don't know about better but certainly be able to get some just as good for that budget or less.

Johnny's Reloading bench tests out a heap of scales and he uses them regularly, shoots tiny groups and is always after nice low es and sd numbers.

Top end scales aren't necessary for say sub-500yds but out past there is a very different story. Yes, consistent neck tension is a huge variable, as is brass prep.

I get single digit SD but was just keen to dive a little deeper on accuracy of charges...it is something I would enjoy. Agree with comments on neck tension, partly why I bought an AMP annealed.

There are people alot more qualified than me that would argue that statement.
You are talking about the ability of what accuracy your own shooting ability is with out even bringing in the ability of your weapon systems.
As I say read the secrets of the Houston warehouse

Your amp is the one single investment that will improve your accuracy not .002 of a grain.

I've read the Houston Warehouse article multiple times. It largely relates to sub-200yd BR shooting, not long range that I am alluding to.

My perspective is F-Open shooting up to 1000yds, not short range plinking or deer shooting.
