Looking for recommendations for digital scales, leaning towards the Dillon D Terminator electronic scale as have heard they are good - any others people have had a good run with worth considering?

Search Frankford Arsenal DS 700 on the forum
There was a review on it recently
I bought one, haven’t used it yet.
He nui to ngaromanga, he iti to putanga.
You depart with mighty boasts, but you come back having done little.
Sounds like a typical hunting trip !
I wouldnt mind upgrading my scales as well. Been using hornady digis for a long time but the auto turn off thing can get pretty annoying...
Depends on how many $ you are prepared to pay as to the quality you get.
Whats your budget?

We have used 20 dollar digital scales in our school chemistry classes for years.W e use up to 100g and some up to 300g. They also have the grains mode on them. My present set is almost 8 years old and they still work perfectly
Budget is in the $300’s I guess - I’ve used the cheaper Hornady scales and both become unusable fairly quickly. They see to start off ok and then become progressively less accurate and finicky (even with new batteries and no electronic interference.

I use an RCBS charge master lite. Works fine but I discovered it throws 0.1 - 0.2gr under what its actually saying. I now use it to throw the majority of the charge and then I finish off on a beam scale. Gives me good peace of mind without having to fork out 1k plus for a digital scale that can be totally relied upon.
I weigh every single load with a beam scale and scoop. Have done a thousand over the last year, and after 55 years of reloading Im nearly over it. So I will be watching this thread closely.

I also use beam scales but I do use a Hornady thrower for ball powders as it throws them bang on every time.
Not so accurate with slow burning stick those I throw under then top up with a spoon.
Same spoon I've used for 40 years.

Sorry I can't recommend anything in that price range

I look at it like this.
43 yrs ago my balance beam alone cost $35 and it was maybe 2/3 of my weekly wage. No electrons in it nothing in the realm of R&D. Fast forward to being an E scales convert. I would recommend spending similar money.
I went the whole hog but I had reasons.
For a really reliable set up as a person who enjoys reloading I would get a Hornady vibra trickler and a J series AnD scale.
Actually there is a thread in the reloading section over on Accurate Shooters forum about advice on Electronic scales, might be worth a read for anyone wanting to change.

https://reloadingdirect.co.nz/shop/r...les/ad-ej-410/ This is a A&D scale on the lower end. probably one of the only scales around $500 i would have a crack at. I had a charge master lite and liked my redding no.2 better. Balance are accurate, cant really fail. but a little slow. But no messing around with calibration. With a powder thrower , trickler they are pretty quick.
