Using the JBM simplified trajectory drop charts for 6.5x55
How close to actual results would you expect that simplified trajectory to be (not for extreme range, probably just 300m - 400m) Rich

It would be pretty close. But I would confirm it by firing. There are a few variables that can effect it.

Do what ya want! Ya will anyway.
JBM is an excellent program and easy to use if you feed it correctly ie - velocity -projectile BC , USE g7 although that wont matter g1 or g7 at distances under 600 yards to much -scope height - use an average temp and say 500 feet in altitude and you shouldnt be to far off .Very important though to get you velocity sorted out and if you come as invited for a shoot I can sort that stuff for you quick smart .
If you have an Iphone down load the JBM programe or ballistic FTE -If you have an android phone get Bryan Litz programe
Tweed or not to Tweed that is the question
Hey El B, what is the Bryan Litz program for Android? I've read "shooter" has a glitch somewhere (think it was on here). I read someone was out 1moa around 600yards, or has this been fixed?
Sorry can't remember who said that or where it was read.
I'll see if i can find it
EDIT: (Can't seem to find it, but it may have been Norway??) Don't quote me on that though

Just shoot IT , and make your own drop table , easy , its only 300-400m
Out to only 400 meters almost anything will be 'close enough'
with hunting in mind you know I think if more thought equipment buys through many would just opt for either a mill dot system or a ballistic reticle that they learn to use at closer distance -once learnt which would be very easy no need for a ballistics chart .Plex reticules for me serve little purpose
