Gun works carry steel powder, likley others who do as well.
800x has a different burn speed althought its still a slow burning shotshell powder, I use both in 16 and 28ga.
What are you loading for 12ga hunting loads?
Good mate in Canada loads a 3" shell up with steel powder and 1 1/4oz steel bb at 1750 feet per second, I call them howlencer rounds, effen noisy. But Very effective.

The new theory for steel reloading is go for velocity. Some overseas are loading 7/8 oz loads at 1600-1700 fps with good results.

I have data for steel that is pushing 1850 fps for 12ga, but we have found if you crank up the speed to high levels, you need to pattern you loads, as they often blow the patterns, I load mostly non-toxic shot at about 1350-1400 in 10,16 and 28ga. But have a good mate who runs 12ga high speed steel, lighter loads as fast as he can get them.
Have a look at ballistic products load of the week data.
