SO HOW my crazy mind went in this direction.....
the 277fury gets higher pressures SAFELY by a better case/stronger case design.... surely a brass case is stronger than plastic jobbie
the .410 solids are tiny and light...around 87grains...poked out at 1500ish fps
the other day on thread about stags with black powder it was mentioned a .45 ball is 180ish grains
buckshot is .30 or .32 calibre the plastic case easily and safely pushes out 3-5 of them 1200ish fps,in plastic wad.
a brass case that fits nicely inside a .410 chamber with round ball, maybe powder coated pushed down on top of load of black powder shouldnt create huge pressures, should be brown bess accurate in smooth bore say 4" at 25 yards as the goal..and might provide enough power without too much.....
WHY WOULD YOU???allowing a fella to carry the uber light rugged wee .410 shotgun but have a cartirdge on hand that will deal to animal at close range with a bit more authority than either the solids or buckshot..without the spread of buckshot
