Eld-VT
Has anyone tried these bullets in the wild in any caliber on any 4 legged game?
Got some of the 6.5 100 grain loaded @ 2600 in my 16 inch mini action, hoping at Grendel speeds, sub 250m they might go okay.
Have shot a few wallaby from 150m-260m and got full pass throughs, not crazy expansion by any means.
Cheers

Hornady offer the same bullet in loaded 6.5 Creedmoor ammo. It might need that extra bit of speed to get it to start fragmenting, as underneath the jacket and tip is meant to be just a flat meplat of lead - no deep hollowpoint.
It should still be doing the damage on roos at 2600?
When I get around to it, I'll grab a box and give them a go in a 6.5 PRC. Could be a very different story at +3400.

Took the dog and the Grendel for a walk this morning. Can report back that the 100grn 6.5 ELD-vt bullet has no issues killing deer/pigs at Grendel velocities. The deer was approx 150m and pig approx 200m. Attachment 273427Attachment 273428
