    Factory 7mm 08 rounds

    Hey Guys,
Know nothing about ballistics or grain weights etc, just buy factory Ammo for my 7mm08.

Does anyone that shoots same calibre know what is my best bet factory Ammo for bush hunting? Does it matter at such short ranges?

Currently got Winchester super x 140 grain and Hornady American whitetail 139 grain.

Is the grain referring to projectile weight or powder in cartridge?

    Cheers!

The grain is referring the projectile weight. Try some Remington 140 grain Corelokt bullets, they kill real well at bush hunting ranges.

Grains can refer to the weight of projectile or powder; in the case of factory ammunition it refers to the bullet weight. 140 grain equals 9.07 grams.

Your Winchester and Hornady ammo are both excellent for bush hunting. Likewise Remington as Huntn says.

Won’t matter at all what ammo inside 100m
My suggestion would be to fire a shot at paper if changing ammo
Just to make sure it’s not shooting to a completely different point of impact
If it’s within an inch of where you aimed go hunting

So projectile type and weight within a cartridge size is not worth considering for bush hunting basically, hopefully I can knock something over before the rain this weekend

i would stick to the same weight 5gn or so ie if your zeroed for 140gn anything 135-145 will be fine just don't go to 160s from 140 without checking on paper
