Factory Ammo for 308 Bush Rifle

    Hi Guys

Looking for some ideas of factory Ammo to try for an 18" 1 in 10 twist suppressed 308.

i realise I may have to try a couple to get something my rifle likes, but a starting point would be good.

Intention is to use up to 200m mostly 100m or less in the bush. I would like to use on fallow to reds.

I also am looking for a factory load to use on Wapaiti at some stage, in the draw for a wap block for next year, will happen at some stage...definitely on the bucket list.

Not into reloading yet, seriously considering going down this path at a later date so interested in factory loads at the moment.

    Chers

Iv shot more deer with factory blue box federal 150gr than anything else. Never had a fail. Maybe go up to 180 for a wap at close range

I allways used 150gr Rem corelokts when I didn't load... then when I did I still used Rem corelokts for bush shooting, good reliable mushroom

    Cheers guys

I use blue box in my 243 with no problems so far.

One of the loads I have been looking at is superformance sst 150 gr from Hornady. Any advise re these would be great.

    Cheers

I havent used them but have handloaded them(the sst), They are sopost to be the interlock with a plastic tip for better BC.
Performance is WAY more explosive than the interlock(read much less penetration at close range)
I will never use them in the bush again, probably ideal +200y

interlok, federal blue box, corelokt etc for that kind of range i wouldn't even bother finding a round your rifle likes. Even if it shoots 3 MOA it would still be acceptable. Save your money.

Same opinion here, coreloks or federal both do the business

    Cheers Guys

Will try the federal and corlokts and see how I go, certainly hoping for better than 3 moa even if I dont need it!

Get the rifle on Friday and if the weather isnt complete shit should get a chance to have a play!

wap ballot in so if I draw a block will have a rethink then...may even be a good excuse to buy another rifle..

    Cheers
