Thread: Factory ammo chrony results

I had a chance yesterday to run some factory ammo over the chronograph results as follows.
Sauer 100 7mm08 16.5inch barrel

Federal power shock blue 150gn
2401,2428,2400,2431,2415

Remington corelokt 140gn
2370,2465,2465,2588,2531

Hornaday superformance 139 sat
2501, 2572,2602,2613,2651,2609

Now I don't have much experience with these things but that is quite a large differences with the same ammo

I shot each string with 10 minutes to let the barrel cool in between also had a small rest every 3 or so shots while I checked the groups.

I've decided to use the hornaday even though the Remington grouped better because the calculator says the higher bc and mv will allow me to shoot 200 yards further and retain energy.
