    Fast 7mm and Monos

Has anyone had any experience with a fast 7mm and mono's?

Looking to load some in my 7mm rem mag (but speed be similar to saums, 280ai etc).

If anyone has any experience on tahr and deer out to say 450-500 feedback on recommendations be appreciated. Hammers look awesome but looking for real life feedback

Yep 143 hammer hunters 7mm saum mv 3183
Most accurate load I've ever had. Shot a number of animals in the 500 yard zone. Great on reds with big body mass.

That's as fast as it wants to go in my 18.5 inch barel. More powder doesn't give any significant velocity gains.
I would expect that this is a 600 yard ethical load for big bodied animals

Pretty much what I was looking at using. Would the hammer hunters be better than the absolutes? Mine will be out of a 21inch rem mag so the velocity would be very similar to yours. Good to see them in action

I have 40 odd absolute 140s here. I tried them and they were just as accurate, ragged holes on a ladder test and I didn't get any more velocity than the 143s. I am guessing that is it for my barrel.
You should get a bit more out of yours.
Happy to sell you the balance of the 140s

Watching with interest, thinking of getting some 7mm Hammers to run in 284, SAUM or 280ai.

I'm a little surprised the velocity isn't a little higher. The 162 amax do 2980 in my 7saum.
I'm definitely considering going to a copper pill. Is the 143 better than the 140?

Haven't shot anything with the 140. They are supposed to get more fps due to only the bands engaging with the rifling. Could well be the case on a different barrel but mine topped out at 3190 with 2 grains more than the 143 so no point going any further.
I'm guessing that there terminal performance would be identical

Have you tried any other brands, Barnes, peregrine, etc?

Just Barnes in the 7mm. 120ttsx and 145lrx
All the mono's tend to be very accurate. The Barnes work well but the hammers tend to fragment more. This is apparent when you dig them out of the dirt.

I shout 140 gr Barnes TTSX in my saum, 3150 fps without pushing hard. The furthest animal I shot was a thar at 275m. I shot a few sika and a hare with that load at shorter distance. This is my 0to 350m load as I am dual loading with some 162 gr eldm and can stretch up to 650m with that second load and Buck the wind a bit better.

Whay about the Makers ones?I think DOC did a huge amount of testing and decided they were the best.
Are people importing their own or is there a local source?

I’ve used 120 TSX and 120 NBT from a 7RM. 3400+fps with RL22 and the charge varies from lot to lot. 350 yards is the farthest I’ve killed with them and it puts a whitetail down immediately. 120s and 60.0gr of Hunter is easier on the shoulder and the meat. Leaves the barrel at 3050fps.

I only have 1 7RM these days but accuracy was always stellar when I had multiples of them.
