    Federal Primers Stock

    I see Large Pistol and Large Pistol Magnum (including Gold Medal) stocks seem to be coming back and Reloaders have a limited stock of Small Rifle (for an outrageous price of $399/1000).

    I have somewhat adequate stocks of Large Rifle (can hold off for another year or two) but starting to get extremely low on Small Rifle Match and Small Pistol.

    Does anyone know if there is light shining through at the end of the tunnel or when future shipments of Federal Primers might be arriving on our shores? I have been trying to hold off changing brand.

    Unless you can get direct information from the importer or you see them on the shelves everything else is just rumours.
    Personaly if you can find a reliable source for your needs for the next 2 to 3 years of use and you can buy sufficent stock, do it. Of any brand you consider reliable.

    If Trump doesn’t win, 2035 before we will see Federal primers again

    I've got a unopened box of 1000 I'd be happy to swap for LR. White River or what have you.

    Subtitle script during the dramatic pause with no talking:

    (frantic noises of someone searching for LR primers of any type).

    Is there any real difference between Federal LR and White River LR primers?

    A mate has been using White River LR and there performing perfectly well

    @Seventenths
    In some 243W and 30.06 loads I'm using WR Primers as direct substitute for Federal 210. Accuracy, velocity POI haven't changed. One differebne is WR primer cups are deeper / taller than the Federals. I find in my Norma brass I have to seat WR Primers with a little more grunt to ensure they don't project above case head level. But in Sako and Remington brass they seat below head level.

    Totally correct. I had to use a primer pocket uniformer to get enough depth to seat the WR primers to adequate depth in new Lapua PRC brass. Fine once that was done.

    Absolutey not. WR are made robotically. Good product. The world atlas has spun.

    Well the robot as some accuracy issue they are definitely taller than any other primer I used. Quite annoying to have to uniform primer pocket to get them to fit properly...

    I run the KnM 3 in 1 uniformer[now] on all my brass.Both for large and small. No WR primers are proud. Priming off T7 ram.
