Interesting you free recoil your rifle. I've always had better groups with my left hand on top of the scope especially with a pod on concrete, YMMV.
Keep us updated with progress.
You need a longer gun.
Think I've hit my 'word hearing limit' for today. I'm buggered.
I take it the A-Max were seated OK without the new bit in the seating die?
i was waiting for the ferry crossing.what twist and barrel length?
That was pretty serious marking on the bullet until you changed the stem. What neck tension are you running? Are you using Redding S type dies?
Going well
Nice
Gimp, any reason for going with the ELD-m verse the "X" type?
How much powder were in those laods?
My 260 barely breaks 2700fps with 140gr Amaxs, 43.5gr of 2209 and a 24" barrel.
46odd but its well over max so due diligence required
Yeah I'm not telling you how much powder is in the load, work up for what's safe in your own rifle. Suffice to say - loose chamber (brass expands a lot), long throat, seated out long, no sticky bolt or head stamping.
I have been using the 143gr ELD-X all year, shot 4 deer and a couple of bull tahr with them, not impressed with terminal ballistics besides which they cost more, have a lower BC.
Thanks Gimp, amazing how these .260's perform.
Compared to the old days they are the mother ship for the .222's lol.
