I need to fireform some new Lapua 260 brass for my 260AI.
Have got heaps of Trailboss which i assume is perfect for the job, how do i fill the case without this magic Cream of Wheat stuff? And what should i use in place of a projectile?

FWIW I fire-form for my 6.5TCU shooting groups at the range and it works OK
I use 1 grain less than my "normal" load and seat the bullets just into the lands and away we go.
Trust the dog.........................................ALWAYS Trust the dog!!
I form the same brass.
Dunno if trailboss is fast enough.
Pistol or shotgun powder works best.
I use AS30N as I have a heap of it. Same as green dot.
I run a .270 button into the neck to flare it so when chambered the case is hard against the bolt face.
Once charged I use a 1x1" patch stuffed in on top of powder and fire them off.
You will have to work out the charge that gives the best form yourself as different powers will give different results.

Do what ya want! Ya will anyway.
I tried the fast powder and a filler method but to be honest loading a round with near max .260 load of 2209 and a 129 grn hornady loaded out to contact the lands worked best for me and it's a very useable load.

I do that now as I am not using the rifle for anything other than hunting.
It has only done 250 rnds on the current barrel. I have a heap formed and only on their first firing so doubt I will be doing anything different. Accurate enough for fringe and bush shooting.

I would do that but don't have time to get up to the range to fire them off, so just want to form some at home. The purists will surely gasp at me not redoing load development with a new batch of brass, but if there's a corner to be cut..
Fair enough. Either way gives me the same results.
Forming without projectile does save barrel life and time at the range for sure.

Trailboss is between AS30 and Greendot so will start with that, otherwise I know where i can get cheap AS30, how many grains for powder do you normally use?
Start at 23 and work up.
25 in my rifle gets a good shoulder but not perfect until first firing with projectile.
Accurate tho.

Hmm, i started at 12 grains trailboss, still very round, will try more before I go get AS30
