    First shots on 300 saum

Had jaco build my 300saum, and it was finished yesterday defiance tenacity action, proof 18 inch carbon, hitec carbon tactical hunter stock, hardy ultra mag supressor, triggertech special, hawkins hybrid rings with a nx8 4-32 scope. Took her to the range today to do the barrel break in, then started shooting some speed groups. Was blown away with the performance. 178gr eldx @ 2900fps safely, got a slight heavy bolt loft at 2970, but had some good low SD groups around the 2900-2930fps mark. Looking forward to doing some seating depth tests with this charge! 60.7gr rl17 did the job. Got the heavy bolt loft at 62gr

You have joined a unique club. Very cool. Love mine and will never let it go. Close to the perfect big banger. So efficient.
    Who's reamer did Jaco use?

Jaco ordered one in. I was going to buy it but think he wanted it for his collection.

I got the defiance bug. Used to have tikkas, browning, rem700... got my first defiance from Greg down at terminator, and sold everything else. Own these 3 now, and between the 3 they are more than adequate for what I do!

Well at least none of them are orange.

The .300 SAUM is very hard to go past for me, in my quest to decide on a longer range hill rifle. It’s ticked all the boxes with the only stumbling block being justifying the cost - how much will it really get used?

That’s awesome from an 18”. I’d be keen to shoot Speer 180btsp through a set up like that.

I reconed it to be an awesome rifle Lars. Had no issues getting it dailed in and the chamber reaming went like a dreeam. Im impressed with the Hardy cans performance.

With our dollar against the US under 60 cents everything is going to go up.
