    FMJ 223

    I have alot of PMC FMJ 223 that i was thinking for pulling and changing to SP .
    Whats the best way to do without losing powder i guessing collet puller ?
    And do i need to resize the neck

    Yes a collet, don't be tempted to change bullet weight though, and no you won't need to resize

    I use a Hornady collet puller and I do not resize the neck. You will not lose any powder unless you tip a case over. Remade OAL is 10 thou off the lands.

    Try and get a pill of similar profile to the FMJ as well as the same weight. Then you can just load to the same length and all should be good. You may find a slightly bigger group after changing pills, but should be fine for hunting purposes.

    I use wire crimpers in press with shell holder and no die. Done heaps of fmj 223 that way

    Might have to try that first before i go buy bullet puller

    thanks for the tip mate much appreciated saved me $$$ from buying puller
    Have made up a few test at diff lengths will try them out next week

    Unless you really tight for $$$ or only shoot deer...use them as they are.buy box of factory soft points for deer but the fmj rounds are fine for most uses...a tight twist is definitely a DISadvantage if using them,but wouldn't stop me.ive shot hundreds of wallabies,hares n Rabbits using fmj in .223

    Finally got out to test best group i had with FMJ was 1.1moa the 55grn sp best was .7moa .
    I also tried 62gr sp and they grouped best at .4moa with no pressure signs
