    Forster Co-Axial Press Dimensions

    Who's got a Co-Ax press?

I need to know how far below the press base the guide rods extend.
Looks like I may have a potential problem as I have a set of drawers underneath my bench top and the guide rods may prevent the top drawer opening.

I can make a base for the press to raise its height but would prefer to to not have to naft around.

    Thanks

Mine is 65mm sitting on a 40mm bench so 105 mm total. However I don't have a primer catcher on mine and I think that's a good bit lower. Cheers

    Thanks for that @Tentman

Do you not deprime on the Forster?

You'd better head back now and sit down and take it easy.

165 total length to bottom of primer catcher container, this could be shortened a bit I think.

I'd like to but I left the tube and jar behind when I picked it up and haven't been back to collect it yet. My shed floor is nearly as interesting as the awful benchtop (left in a hurry to go hunting and got sent straight to hospital when I got home so everything just dumped on top of the stuff from the last 27 range visits haha)

The primer catcher jar extends 57mm below the guide rods.
It is a total of 165mm below the bench surface when fully down.

Heh guys, thanks for all the replies.
Looks like I'll be OK to open the drawer, just raise the rods and primer catcher.

Now just got to sort out where to mount my old press - I still have a use for it. I'm short of bench space.Name: SmartSelect_20230412_083023_Chrome.jpg

I have in the last year changed to a hand de-priming tool. Just sit over a rubbish bin and pop the primers straight in to it. No mess.
My old press (RCBS 1975 vintage) drives me nuts. I use a dedicated de-priming die. The spent primers are supposed to go down the ram and out of a slot on the side and into the collection tray. About 1 in 10 manage to go right thru and end up among the linkages or mostly on the floor.
I operate in bare feet all the time. The little shits hurt when I tread on them rough side up.
